Okay, a followup: I’ve noted the first usage on LGF in its longer form and its longer form. If it’s okay with Zombie, I’ll link the shorter form (DinnerJacket) and say, “See Ahm-a-DinnerJacket”. There’s some evidence that it didn’t originate on LGF, but it could easily have originated independently. A claim has been made on a page that it started with Stephanie Miller, but I can’t prove that she did or that she did before the notation on LGF.

It was used first on another blog, and I have that reference.

In case anyone’s mystified as to what happened to DesertSage’s thread asking why the comments were out of order chronologically — and which thread itself ended up being out of order chronologically:

I deleted it.

Why? First of all, because the thread was about a now-fixed issue and was no longer meanignful and relelvant; and also because it was there right in the middle of some crucial threads about how to post on the blog.

Anyway, it was just an unneeded interloper in the chronology of the posts, and everything is back to normal now, in our new time zone.

Next question: Does anybody know how we can change the settings on this %#$&@#$ blog so that the name of the admin who posted each thread is visible? (I.e. “posted by xxx”). Crazily, it doesn’t do that with the current settings.

That is theme-based. My suggestion would be to have the poster sign the post, like this:
