Welcome to the Little Green Footballs Dictionary!

This blog will (hopefully) be the new permanent home of the LGF Dictionary.
It will not function as a standard blog, such as having frequent posts that follow current events, or anything along those lines. Instead, the heart of the site will be the “LGF Dictionary” page linked in the menu bar above.
The blog posts on the site’s “front page” will only serve as a place for visitors to suggest new entries or corrections for the dictionary.
A small number of hand-picked site admins will maintain the dictionary. Details to be announced soon!
Bear with us as we work out all the kinks.

Ok found it. Just go to “manage” tab — Users, click on “add user” and add My email. Then flag me as as contributor. If you want some help with sidebar, widgets etc. then you can flag me as Admin.

tarkloon (thanos), I’ve already done that. You ARE an admin as we speak!
Remember, you are an admin under your “thanos” account — not sure if that is the same thing as your “tarkloon” account.

Ok, go to the presentation tab, drag the widget named “meta” to the sidebar. That way I can login.

Ok I had to find the full url of the write tab, but got there. With the meta tab in the sidbar you can get to login and register, without it then it’s kinda difficult.

I was wondering how the hell to do that. Figuring out how to access the admin area was really confusing.
That’s why we have you around — you’re the only person who knows how this WordPress thing works!
Thanks for stepping in to help. Any additional useful widget improvements you can think of — go for it.

It’d be an improvement if you loaded your “zombie” avatar into your profile.

Ok I think you have a flikr site, go to “presentation” select widgets from the menu, click on the flicker widget & insert your flikr site, then click the save changes button

Howdy!
Remember, everyone, for the moment, please DON’T link to this site in any posting anywhere — even as a comment on LGF or any other blog. Not yet at least. First we’ve got to whip it into presentable shape. Even one link in a comment can lead to the site being indexed by Google, which means people would find it when doing a search for “LGF Dictionary.”
One we agree that we’ve got a nice system going, then we can make an announcement — perhaps even convince Chalres to post a “grand unveiling” thread.

Mandy (and everyone), go to here to set up your avatar:

Basically, get/download/etc. the picture of your choice, then “choose file” to select it, then they let you crop it as you see fit, and — you’re done!
Obviously, you have to be logged in under your account to do it.

I’m utterly clueless when it comes to downloading stuff. The only photograph I have saved on my computer is Mr. August from the USMC calendar.

Mandy: well, then I’m afraid I can’t help you much! You can either be Mr. August, or teach yourself how to download a photo to your computer, or just be a generic silhouette!

BTW- If you want to change your nic/avatar (using DesertSage as an example):
Login to the WordPress site and go to the main dashboard…
Then, click ‘Update your profile or password’ (you can also get there under ‘users’ and ‘your profile)…this brings you to the page where you can upload an avatar and edit your name…
There is a blank that says ‘nickname’…enter DesertSage
click ‘update profile’ (lower left corner) …this will save and refresh the page
then scroll down to ‘display name publicly as’, and select DesertSage
click ‘update profile’ again
that should do it

#21 chenzhen — Ahhhh, that’s why my name didn’t change after I changed it — I didn’t do the last step of “display name publicly as…”.
